Paul Frank - Monkey Man

Julius. Clancy. Sheree. Worry Bear.

Know 'em?

Get to, cos they're characters from Paul Frank. You know, that fler who did the monkey?

Sadly Paul Frank is no longer a part of Paul Frank. Boo.

PF is an American cartoonist, artist and fashion designer, and chances are even you are fashionably retarded like I usually am, you've seen Julius the monkey on something

"He bought a sewing machine in order to complete small projects. One day, he used some spare orange vinyl to create a wallet and after seeing his work, his friends expressed interest in other accessories, so he began to sew items such as guitar straps and backpacks."

*excerpt from wikipedia -yes we wiki a lot, get used to it.-

"Frank says that much of his style has developed as a result of his love for music such as The WhoQueenThe Rolling Stones and The Velvet Underground"

Do you see Queen in these?

As somebody who attempts to design occasionally and who dreams up characters often, I have to say coming up with comic characters that people want to wear on their bags and clothes is no easy feat. I mean, who do you know past the age of 9 wants Minnie Mouse on their bagpack? Exactly. Nobody. If you currently own Mickey-wear, please stop. I suspect "The Man" is going to read this and scold me for putting down a brand so rudely. Oh well. She'll have to catch me first. Heheh.

What is it about PF's damn monkey that makes you want to wear it?

Donno. If I could answer that, you'd be buying Monkey's from ME.

I'm not sure I'd wear everything of PF's, but I definitely love that red skull casing up top, and...actually ya why not. I would wear the flip-flops. Cute what! Now this hat I definitely wouldn't wear, but you suka, you buat la.

From left-right : Sheree, Julius, Clancy and Worry Bear.

Go to their site, checkem for yourself! I love a grungy, punk look, and what's perfect about PF is while it can be worn in it's perfect simplicity, it you threw one some chunky bands and a pair of ripped-jeans and some out of bed hair it would still look perfect. In fact, it could even accentuate the look. Doob Doob my darlings.

XOXO POP
