Crackle Good Fun

China Glaze Crackle Collection! When they first came out with it, I just knew I had to have it! So when Nail Fiesta finally brought it in, I snapped them all up! One in each colour! Originally, I wasn’t too keen on getting Crushed Candy (turquoisey coloured) but then when it was cheaper to just buy the whole set as opposed to just the 5 colours individually, I knew I couldn’t resist. And boy am I glad I got Crushed Candy!

Here are a few different combinations I tried out with the Crackle Collection!

Here’s my very first attempt at crackling.

Black Mesh Crackle over China Glaze Snow.
As you can see, my first attempt was pretty okay, but I decided to be a little more experimental and add another layer of crackle on top.

Added Broken Hearted Crackle over Black Mesh & Snow.
As you can see, the combo was abysmal. I decided to save it by layering Black mesh over it and just leaving it as it is.

The final look. I know, I’m really crappy at applying nail polish hence all the mess at the sides of my nails. Lesson learnt, if you plan to layer your crackle, make sure you apply each coat THINLY! I reckon I applied Broken Hearted a little too thickly causing it to not crackle well.

Second attempt.

Thumb, Middle & Pink Finger: Crushed Candy Crackle over China Glaze Heli-yum.
Pointer & Ring Finger: Cracked Concrete Crackle over China Glaze Heli-yum.

This one was better as I applied the crackle really thinly.

Third Attempt.

Thumb, Middle & Pink Finger: Fault Line Crackle over Color Club Almost Famous.
Pointer & Ring Finger: Broken Hearted Crackle over Color Club Almost Famous.
I must say that I am loving the bright combination of this attempt. Love how the way the yellow makes the pink & purple colour really pop!

Attempt number four.

Pointer & Ring Finger: Crushed Candy Crackle over OPI Mod About You.
Middle & Pinky Finger: Lightning Bolt over OPI Mod About You.
After the previous super bright combo, I decided to go a little lighter, plus I really wanted to test out Lightning Bolt. I like the contrast of Crushed Candy over Mod About You, but I must admit that I should have picked a darker base to pair it with Lightning Bolt. The combination of light pink and white, though is pretty is a tad too soft for me, will be good on days I am feeling like a mild colour on my nails. Hah, which is hardly ever!

Attempt Five.

Cracked Concrete Crackle over China Glaze Light As Air.

Quite honestly, I am loving the very subtle crackle on this polish. I like how the grey is looks really subtle against the lavender. Definitely a combination I would wear again.

Attempt Six.

L – R: Broken Hearted Crackle, Crushed Candy Crackle, Broken Hearted Crackle over OPI Banana Bandanna.
And as usual, I just can’t stay away from the brights! What’d ya guys think about this combo? Not as bright as Attempt Three, but still fun!

Got my BFF to try it out too!

I’ve always love the black, white and pink combo. I don’t know why, but I just think that it’s oh so fun!

Alright. so these are the few combos we have come up with for China Glaze’s Crackle collection. What’d ya guys think of the combos? Any favourites?
There are so many ways you can mix and match the crackle collection, I can’t wait to try more of them out! I might do a sparkle base and black crackle next! But we’ll see how that goes, am going through a dark polish phase so will have to see when I feel like going back to the crackles!

Till next time!
xoxo
