"I like the leopard pring....jeebra...."

So I was reading my dear friends latest "Roar" post on this very blog, and something felt...a-miss...a-wry...a-not-right. Why ah?

Then I realized...she wrote an entire post about fashion and animal prints, and she forgot to mention -gasp- RIS LOW!! Oh the blasphemy!

For those of you living in not Singapore, Ris Low is Miss Singapura, Fashionista and coiner of the terms "Boomz" and "Shingz", two words that I never fail to use on a daily basis. Che-llo, Ris Low is the Show-Yo!

"Hi my name is Ris Low, currently I'm majoring in my -pauses way too long to think- Diploma in Health Science and Hospitality..."

Whatever the rest of that sentence is dull.

But it KILLS me to tickling-tears when the interviewer asks her if she's a Fashionista. Ris Low gets so excited you can tell.

"YES, I AM!"

*Must see!

Well, if you've seen the video link on youtube then you know how the rest of the infamous interview goes, but what I have to love about Ris is her answer about how people swallow her style.

Q : And what are peoples reactions?

"I don't know...because I don't really care. It's about ME!"

Well this post is about you now Ris Darling, and who you might ask is this Ris Low exactly? Let Pop educate you.

Ok well Pop doesn't rightly know, so Pop WIKI'D it. And also Pop will stop referring to herself in third person as of...now.

1. Ris Low; winner of Miss Singapore 2009.

2. :(. She stepped down however, because people kept demanding that her crown be taken away from her. So she went "Take-lah. Think I care ah? Famous ledy ma." Okay fine she didn't say that, but I bet she was thinking it!

3. Bipolar-Betty. As they put it so wonderfully in Alice in Wonderland, "I'm afraid you are a bit of a loon, but all the best people are." What is hilarious however, is what Wikipedia wrote regarding her Bipolar Disorder.

"She revealed that she has had the urge to steal since young and stole Pokemon cards once in Primary One. The act provided her with a sense of achievement: "that you've done something and you got away with it." Her mother detected the problem when she noticed the growing collection of toys and taught her to count to ten and walk away when faced with the urge."

*Excerpt from Wikipedia.org

I didn't know Bipolar and Kleptomania went hand-in-hand. I have been so educated.

4. Widely criticized for having bad English. Well, her 'bad English" has made her more famous than all your English teachers put together. Put that in your English pipe and suh-moke it.

5. Teaches us all that when you walk on the streets you must wear something "Boomz" (attention grabbing), a bikini will keep boys and -some girls too- from being "Shingz" (depressed), and if you pronounce print as 'pring' in front of a camera you will be heralded forevermore (at least on peepintofashion's blog) as the Queen of animal prings!

Move over Gwen Stefani, Ris is in da house!

XOXO POP
