Week 3: Ready to kill boyfriend weekend

In the back of my mind, I KNEW that it was a BAD idea to ever get my BF involved in the picking of my clothes. He did pretty decent the first 2 weeks, and then this week happens. I reckon he’s getting tired of picking clothes for me and he has decided to drive me up the wall by taking forever to pick something and keeps adding ridiculous looking things. It took all of my strength not to tell him, NO! I am NOT wearing THAT!

Anyways, here is this week’s results.

Occasion:
Headed to some music event.

The look.

Me looking surly in a pink fitted top, black shorts and necklace.
Shoes & bag un-pictured because I picked it.

His thoughts:
Again with the clean crisp fitted look. The look was meant to be casual with a pop of something interesting. Sadly, the something interesting had to be this necklace! Which he took a earring of mine and made it into a pendant.
IMG_0717
He thought that the look alone would be too plain, so he added the square mirror necklace and sharp triangle earring as a necklace. He chose to add the triangle earring to create an edgy look to the otherwise girlier look.

My thoughts:
After such a long time of picking and raiding and tossing of all my clothes messily back into my closet, I was NOT amused. While I would wear this shirt and shorts combo, I would probably pair the pink top with my blue union jack denim shorts to give it a bright pop of colour. I would also lose the necklace as I am not an accessories person and it just doesn’t look good together! I would have instead picked bracelets or a ring if I REALLY wanted to accessorise. And I just had to add, that I had to remove the necklace after a few hours of wearing because it was getting on my nerves!

Here’s a photo of me trying to smile, with my BF photo-bombing me with the pig from Angry Birds.

And below is the culprit for the outfit of the day.

Don’t be fooled by his sepet eyes and cute fuzzy-ness. It.Is.A.Lie.

So what’d ya guys think about this week’s outfit? Personally, I am dreading next week’s outfit. Lord knows what he’s gonna do next!

Till next time!

Summer Swimwear Trends 2011

Summer is here!! Hurrah! Not that it isn’t Summer all the time in Malaysia anyways. But we can always appreciate what 4 season countries offer us in terms of fashion and style during the seasons.

Here’s a quick look at one of my favourite things about Summer.
SWIMWEAR!

Styles to note.

Bandeau style bikinis! One of my favourite bikini styles! These are the perfect kind of cuts for those who are looking to have as little tan lines as possible!

One-Shoulders! For all you toga lovers out there, these bikinis are the ones for you! Not quite a bandeau and not quite a bikini, these babies are a great alternative to the basic boob tubes and halter necks! Get’em in sexy bikinis or flirty cut out monokinis!

Ruffles! Look for all things girly in Ruffles! Ruffles are the in thing this Summer! Whether it be tiny and with only a single layer or demure and multiple, this trend will look flattering on practically everyone! And for those who are not top endowed, always opt for a multi-tier ruffle top to enhance the area.

There’s something about Vintage that remains popular every season! This style is particularly perfect for women who are shy to show off their bodies, but still want to have a bit of skin peeking through. It totally exudes sexiness without revealing too much skin.

Choice Colours & Prints.

Soft, pastel hues. Think gorgeous shades of lilac, pale blue and rose pink! Soften up your entire look with any of these hues, whether they be printed or plain, these colours are prefect for everyone!

Minuscule baby prints! Goodbye big, bold prints. Hello, teeny tiny ones! There’s a whole world of tiny prints out there for you to pick from, be it geometric, florals or even elaborate prints! Or if you like, you can always opt to have one bold statement print and teeny tiny ones decorated around it. However, do note that the large print will draw the eye there, so here’s your chance to highlight your favourite body part.

If there’s one thing I LOVE about bikinis, it’s the fact that you can totally mix and match the top and bottom! Let’s say you’ve got small bust and wider hips, all you gotta do is pick a solid coloured bottom and a bright printed top to minimise the hips and emphasise the bust, and vice versa for those of you busty ones with itty bitty hips. :)

And that’s about it from us this time around. :) Right now, we are just dreaming of our next beach adventure! Ah, sun, sea, sand, cocktails & surfer boys. Bliss.

Till next time!

Week 2: Boyfriend picking out clothes for nice dinner

I knew it wasn’t a very good idea letting a boyfriend pick out an outfit, but what I absolutely did not expect was the fact that after he picked out the outfit, he is unable to take a decent photo that makes the outfit and me look good. Yes, I’m vain I know. If you think about it though, no one wants to look crappy in an outfit. –Rant over.-

If you haven’t seen the previous post, here’s a link to it giving you a very short description on him. If you’re too lazy to read, let me sum it up for you. He.Can’t.Dress.Himself.Period. Okay, that’s being a little harsh, to put it milder, he does not care for his dressing.
Enough ranting, here’s this week’s look.

Occasion:
We were heading some place nice for dinner, so I wanted him to pick out something dressy for me.

The look.
IMG_0621IMG_0623IMG_0624
Purple sleeveless cotton dress with a straight cut high neckline and a exposed knotted V-shaped back, small black slightly shimmery clutch and black round toe bling shoes.

That day he insisted on being difficult and lazy by suggesting I tell him which are ‘approved’ clothing to wear to a nice place, I retorted back saying, it would be besides the point if I tell you which are ‘approved’ and which aren’t.

His thoughts:
He picked this outfit because he likes how the dress is fitted, and he insists on the dress be pulled longer so that there are no gathers down the front of the dress giving it a smooth, crisp look. Black bling shoes were picked because he thought the bling set off the purple of the dress, and the clutch was picked because that was the best option possible.

My thoughts:
Where do I begin. Though I like the dress, I wasn’t too crazy about the fact that I had to pull the dress down longer thus removing the gathers, I felt that the gathers and the slightly shorter length gave the dress a bit more character and generally looked more interesting. As for the shoes, I honestly would have picked by purple peep toe Aldo shoes, I just wasn’t really feeling the bling shoe with this classy dress.
Let’s just say I prefer last week’s look even though it was got rather hot in the top!

Okay, now it’s your turn to decide. What do you guys honestly think? :)

Next week’s challenge:
Unknown for now as we don’t have anything planned, will just have to play by ear. :)

Till next time!

It’s Magic!

Or to be absolutely precise, It’s Egyptian Magic! Yes, I’m talking about the world renowned Egyptian Magic Cream that’s endorsed by an array of celebrities and has appeared in many a magazines! Below are a few magazine snippets I took off their website.

Now that you’ve seen a little bit of what well know and famous this cream is, let me give you my personal review. :)

IMG_0661IMG_0663
Let’s be completely honest here, the first time I got it and used it on my face at night, it felt really heavy and thick and my pores felt really clogged as well. Now you’re thinking that perhaps I used quite an amount on my face, I assure you the amount I used was smaller than a pea. I dotted it around my face and just gently smooth it in. My face felt so oily and thick that I almost wanted to wash it all off but instead I persevered and left it on overnight. The first few time you use this cream, it will take awhile to sink into your skin.

The next morning, I actually couldn’t believe how good my skin felt! My skin felt supple and smooth, and when I was washing my face I was surprised at home springy and youthful my face felt. The cream gave my skin a rather ‘boing’ effect, that it was difficult to resist touching my face. It just felt too smooth!

As this cream can be a little thick and heavy, I opted to use it only at night as I do have combination skin and was not sure if this cream would caused my face to shine like the sun if I used it in the day. The next few nights that I continued to use it, it still felt rather heavy and cloggy on my face, but after about a week plus of using, the thick, clogged feeling gradually went away and each morning I was left with soft, smooth and supple skin.
Healing Scars
Many of our customers have commented on Egyptian Magic's "magical" ability to heal scars. Although we don't recommended it for older scars, Egyptian Magic can indeed work wonders to heal relatively recent scars and skin discolorations. Egyptian Magic is popular among many plastic surgeons, who recommend it to their patients for accelerating the healing of plastic surgery scars.
This product is said to heal scars, and frankly I was a little skeptical as first. I initially just wanted to use it as a night cream to hopefully bring in more moisture to my skin. I’ve been using the Egyptian Magic Cream for about 3 weeks now, and I must say that the scars on my cheeks has gradually faded. While they are not completely gone yet, I definitely do see a difference and my skin clarity has improved as well.

IMG_0665IMG_0668
As I only managed to get 2 small sample sachet from Cynthia, I decided to transfer them into plastic jars so they are easily transportable; one to be kept at home, the other brought out.

In short, if you’re looking for a night cream that will moisturise your skin, leaving it smooth and supple each morning without clogging up your pores, this is it for you.

Product has been used accidentally in the day a few times, and the cream did not cause my face to feel oily as it has already absorbed into my skin. :)

As for the healing of scars, it will take awhile. The older the scar the longer it will take. So far, this only applies for scars that are discoloured; the potholes I have on my face have not really been smoothened out yet, but I am hoping that in time the Egyptian Magic Cream will help smooth it out. :)

Just in case you’re curious as to what’s inside this magic product:

Ingredients

Egyptian Magic is made from the purest, all-natural ingredients we can find. These ingredients are widely believed to yield healthful effects on the skin and have been used for centuries to care for and nourish the skin:
  • olive oil
  • bees wax
  • honey
  • bee pollen
  • royal jelly
  • bee propolis
Alright guys, how many of you have actually tried the Egyptian Magic Cream and got good results? And how many of you guys are now going to try it out. :)

Till next time!
xoxo

This product can be used all over your body; from your hair all the way down to your toes. :) Review is only for the face as a few of my friends are worried that it might cause break outs of they apply it on their faces.

Week 1: Letting your boyfriend dress you

One fine day, I stumbled upon this article about an editor who let her boyfriend pick out her clothes for a week. Finishing the article I was intrigued and decided to give it a shot!

After all, my boyfriend constantly complains about my loose, shapeless outfits which I like to wear so much and not to mention that I usually just throw on a tank top or t-shirt and shorts when I head out. Usually, when you’re lazy you tend to pick the same outfit over and over again just because it is easy and no thought is required. Plus, this will be a good opportunity for me to see what other looks can be achieved from my closet. :)

As we are not living together, I decided that it would be a good idea to make it a weekend thing. So once a week, my boyfriend will pick out an outfit for me and I will wear it. Needless to say, he was most excited at the prospect of dressing me, just to get me out of my comfort clothes.

Background on BF.
Let’s just say that he isn’t the sort to get dressed up. He has no problems wearing jeans that are too short and throwing on a ‘marathon’ singlet. Most of his decent looking clothes are umm… bought by me. So we shall see how he fares. :)

Occasion:
We were heading out to Bangsar, him to teach class and me to get a wax. Then later in the evening, we were heading to The Beer Factory to meet up with friends, so I told him that I wanted something comfortable and not too dressy as we’ll be out mostly in the day.

And this is the outfit he picked for me.
IMG_0312IMG_0313
Black & white stripe long sleeve top, muddy green Supre fitted skirt, brown envelope sling bag and basic black ballet flats from Cotton On.

He originally wanted me to dress up in a white button down collared shirt, making me look like an Office Lady. But I promptly rejected the notion as no one wants to dress up as an office lady on the weekend!

His thoughts:
The reason he picked this look was because he liked how the top and bottom were fitted and not my usual shapeless outfits, as well as the fact that it’s harder to go wrong with earthy tones. Plus, he likes looks that are clean and crisp. Whatever that means, give me a tank top and shorts any day!

My thoughts:
First of all, the top is REALLY old and not something I have worn in ages! The bag is just as old and I stopped carrying it around because it’s too small and I can’t easily toss everything inside. Also, since we were out mostly in the day in a non-air-conditioned place, it was a tad too warm in that top!
This is definitely not a style I would go for, but it isn’t too bad. I feel it could do with a bit more colour.

What do you guys think of the combo?
Don't forget to check back next week for the next outfit combo!

Next week’s challenge:
Something dressy as
we’ll be going some place nice for dinner.

Till next time!

Funny little things that work.

I’m all about the cheap! Scratch that, I am all about the affordable. :) Sounds much better doesn’t it. What could I be possibly talking about? A black face masque!

IMG_9487IMG_9489
Saw this particular face masque at Daiso the other day and I decided what the heck, let’s get it! I’ve heard so many reviews about the Shiseido Black Nose Masque that I decided to give this one a shot! After all, the two of them look like the work the same way, plus this one is ONLY RM5 what!

IMG_9491
“Formulated with natural ingredients from Oak trees, it removes oils and all dirt and deeply clean the pore, leaving your skin cleaner with less visible pores.”
Alright, so their English isn’t the greatest but that’s not the point as we’re here to test out their black face masque!

Before I proceed any further, let me warn you that the following photos… are scary! There we go, spitting it out, just yanking out the band aid! There’s just no nice way of warning you about the photos of me that you will soon see. And because I am such a kind and thoughtful soul, I’ve put the scary photos after the jump!
