Review: My Lip Stuff Tinsel Limited Edition

If you’ve been following our blog, you’ll know that we have this huge, never wavering addiction with lip balms.
We personally love our lip balms to be incredibly moisturising, comes on easily on the lips (personally dislike those lip balms that are too hard & take forever to get on your lips!), and has a really delish scent to it as well!

We are definitely a huge fan of My Lip Stuff lip balms as we find that their balms without a doubt, fit the criteria above! We’ve never been too partial about plain, unflavoured lip balms but when Cynthia (tanksfor5) brought in this Limited Edition unflavoured glitter sticks. We just knew we had to give it a try!

IMG_1370
Tinsel: Unflavoured Glitter Stick! This unflavoured balm contains very fine glitter in beautiful shades of blue and green. Absolutely gorgeous, and perfect to be worn as a gloss!

IMG_1372IMG_1373
As you can see from the photos, the lip balm is exactly like all of My Lip Stuff’s balm. It comes uncoloured & slightly transparent. The only difference between these and the other balms are the added glitter & the fact that it’s unscented & unflavoured. While you may have a light whiff of natural scent from all the natural ingredients in the balm, it goes off pretty quickly & if you lick your lips you’ll probably be able to taste a light natural flavour which we think comes from all the natural oils.

IMG_1374IMG_1376
The glitters on the balms are very faint & hardly noticeable at all. For some reason, we find that the glitters which are in beautiful shades of blue & green comes off better on our skin than on our lips. When we put it on our lips, the hint of glitter is very slight but because the balm already has a glossy sheen to it, the glitters help add a very natural shimmer to your lips. Definitely a shimmer that is subtle enough to be worn to work/school.

We love how this balm doesn’t sacrifice moisture just for a little hint of glitter. So opt to wear this lip balm alone, or over your usual lipstick for an added kick of moisture to your lips along with a subtle hint of pretty glitter.

IMG_1377
Because we do find that the glitter comes out better on skin, you can probably dab a little on it on your cheekbones to give it a slight shimmery glow. The glossy sheen of the balm will also give a slight dewiness to your cheeks as well, making you look instantly fresh & alive.

Final verdict? A balm that’s both moisturising & pretty and only at RM13?
Well, frankly we think that this is definitely a deal too good to miss! Definitely grab it while you can!

If you’d like to try out other lip balms from My Lip Stuff, do check out their blog for they have about 90 different delicious flavours to choose from!
Confused on which balm to choose?
Here’s our link of Must Have My Lip Stuff Lip Balm Flavours! Phew! That was quite a mouthful there!

So what’d ya guys think? A pretty little glitter stick for you? :)

Till next time!

Review: Limited Edition Holiday Balms by My Lip Stuff M’sia

It’s been awhile since a review, so I thought I’d give these a go! :)

As usual, I just can’t resist a whole bunch of new lip balms. When Cynthia decided to bring in more My Lip Stuff Lip Balms I knew I was sold. Doesn’t matter that I’ve got a few more from her that I haven’t quite opened yet but let’s just all pretend I never said that.

I was and still am going through a Mint lip balm flavour phase, so I’ve picked out 2 minty flavoured balms & 2 creamy flavoured balms.

holiday lipbalms 1 (1)holiday lipbalms 1 (2)
Gotta love the fun festive packaging!

Mint Chip Cheesecake: Mint chip cheesecake, a new flavour and one highly recommended by Brea, the owner of MLS!
I must say that I love this balm! I love how it’s got a distinct delicious cheesecake flavour to it that’s incredibly rich and creamy, topped with a very mild chocolate scent coupled with a wonderful minty scent that leaves a tingly sensation on your lips. It’s so good you wonder why you can’t just take a bite out of it! Great for people who love mint & cheesecakes!

Eggnog Ice Cream: Eggnog is a dairy based beverage made with sweetened milk or creamer, mixed with beaten eggs with a hint of liquor, nutmeg, and cinnamon. A very popular drink in the USA during Christmas. We took an eggnog flavoured balm since they're really popular in the US, and chose the one mixed with ice cream to give it a milder scent for Malaysians.
Having never really had eggnog before, -save the time where me & my BFF attempted to make our very own eggnog- I really did not quite know what to expect from this lip balm. Taking a whiff from the balm, it’s got a nice cinnamon scent that’s slightly coffee-ish, and an overall creamy flavour. It’s sweet with a mild vanilla flavour, rich and creamy from the sweetened milk. It’s essentially a very creamy, milky lip balm. Definitely worth having if you love cream, ice cream, milk & cinnamon! :)

Festival of Lights: Funnel Cake Flavour! A favourite boardwalk treat. Fried Yellow Cake with Powdered Sugar! Yum!!
As this is something I’ve never had before, I really did not know quite what to expect with this Funnel Cake lip balm flavour. I would say that it reminds me of the Vanilla version of Pink Cake. Equally yummy but not quite as cakey as Pink Cake. It’s got a wonderful vanilla flavour, with a rich powdered sugar scent & a sweet cakey scent to it as well. It basically feels like taking a bite into a fried Vanilla cake & licking all the vanilla icing sugar off it! Sinful & sweet.
It’s stevia sweetened so you can’t help but keep licking it off your lips!

Mad Scientist: Twisted Melon Flavour! An unexpectedly tasty mix of watermelon and peppermint.
Out of the 4 balms, this has to be one of the lightest and most refreshing of the lot. It’s got a strong peppermint scent & flavour that leaves a tingle on your lips. I know the description says watermelon, but I get a more honeydew scent & flavour to it. It’s incredibly light, feels wonderfully refreshing & fruity, while it may seem like an odd combo this really is a great pick me up lip balm! If you love mint, and you’re not too crazy about rich, creamy lip balms this would be a great one to add to your collection. :)

Have any of you tried these balms? Which are you looking forward to trying? Cynthia’s got a new one up that’s unflavoured with very fine glitter in it called Tinsel! Can’t wait to get a hold of that!

Texture-wise, these balms are the same as all the other MLS balms. Smooth & moisturising with an added yummy twist!

Till next time!

Blueberry Muffin & Shamrock Shake

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while since my last My Lip Stuff lipbalm review, but it’s only because I’ve been a mixture of both lazy and busy. If that even makes any sense. But moving along, we’re here to talk about 2 of the flavours that I am currently obsessed about. :)

First up, Blueberry Muffin.
blueberry muffin (1)blueberry muffin (2)
If you’re a fan of blueberries, and if you’re a fan of sugar, and if you’re a fan of muffins, then this balm is definitely for you! I absolutely love the brown sugar scent, if that even makes any sense. I know that the flavour says it has cake in it, for me it the cakey-ness wasn’t there, instead it was just a nice muffin scent. I wish I could pop this into the oven, heat it up and take a bite out of it!
775999478_716d3e8526BXP163722
Yum! These look gooooooood!
Holding this balm open, and taking a deep inhale of the scent, the first scent that hits your nose is a lovely blueberry scent followed by a rich muffin scent and a mild brown sugar scent. I know there are a few people who don’t quite like this flavour, some say that it’s too muffiny, some don’t really like the scent of the brown sugar. To be honest, when I first used this balm, I didn’t quite like it either. I’m not too sure why, I think it was the muffin-ness that was a little different smelling and tasting that I wasn’t quite used to. But using it a couple more times, I realised that I do like this flavour! I love that it’s not too sweet or creamy like Pink Cake or Apple Smoothie, and not too minty or coffee-ish like Peppermint Latte. This balm is definitely a nice twist to your usual creamy, minty flavours and I love it just for that. :)

So if you’re looking for a balm that isn’t too sweet and sugary, that isn’t too creamy, that doesn’t have mint in it, that isn’t too fruity, then Blueberry Muffin is the balm for you! Plus, it totally helps with your sugary muffin cravings! ;)

Next up, Shamrock Shake.
shamrock shake (2)shamrock shake (1)
Currently, this is the balm that I have been using obsessively since I opened it 2 weeks ago! I love the minty-ness of it, and for my sweet tooth, I absolutely love the vanilla ice cream in it! In fact, I am gonna go apply some now!
shamrock-shake-240-j4648318ShamrockShake2222
Gosh, don’t these look good!
One of my favourite things about mint lipbalms, is the fact that after you apply it on your lips, it leaves your lips with a light, tingling sensation. And OMG, the scent of the vanilla ice cream just calls out to me! There are no words to describe how much I love this flavour! Now my only question is, why don’t the serve the actual shamrock shake in our Mcd’s?

If you love mint, and you love vanilla ice cream and milkshake, this balm is definitely a must have for you! What could be more delicious than having the tingling sensation of mint on your lips, and the soft creamy scent of vanilla mixed with a hint of peppermint wafting up to your nose. Love.

Okay, that’s all for now folks! Will do my best to update more often. :)
Till next time!

Must Have My Lip Stuff Flavours!

YAY! If you guys haven’t already heard, Cynthia from Tanks for 5 is the proud distributor of My Lip Stuff in Malaysia!
“My Lip Stuff lip balms are hand made, skin-earth-animal friendly natural lip balms, available in more than 500 flavours. The best moisturizing lip balm on the planet, plus with the wide range of flavours, you're sure to find one that suits you!”
Yes, that’s me being lazy and totally copying and pasting the quick information on MLS’s fantastic lip balms!
If there’s one thing you should always have in your purse, it’s lip balm! The great thing about them is the fact that they come in little small tubes that won’t take up much space in your purse. Not only can you use them on your lips, but you can always apply them on any other rough patches of your skin that need instant moisturising.

Now the great thing about MLS’s balms, besides the fact that they are totally hand made, skin-earth-animal friendly, they come in the largest possible selection of flavours! Can you totally imagine having 500 different flavoured lip balms! Gosh! That’s more than I could use in a year! Because of the HUGE variety, I decided to make a very quick MUST HAVE/STARTER KIT of flavours! They will include those that I have tried, and those that I totally want and feel that they are a MUSTTTT!

So done up alphabetically, here goes the top flavours that you MUST have!

Apple Smoothie.

Description: Sweet red apples blended with creamy vanilla milk.
I find that every once in awhile, you’d like to have a delicious fruity smoothie, and that’s where this balm comes in to give you your fix! A delicious blend of juicy sweet apples and creamy vanilla milk. Utter bliss to have in your purse.

Berry Berry.

Description:
All berries here! Strawberry, Raspberry, Blueberry and more.
Who can resist a balm that has all the possible berries inside? This balm is truly yummy and gummy. There’s just no other words to describe how yummy this balm is! It’s just a simple sweet, fruity and berry filled balm! Great for all your berries junkies!
Click here for the full review.

Cat Pee.

Description: A funny name- but a yummy blend of pink grapefruit, orange, & lime.
This is one of my personal favourites! For me, I can’t seem to taste the pink grapefruit-ness at all. Which I am very glad for, because I HATE grapefruit! I don’t care how fabulous it is in helping you lose weight. I.HATE.IT.
Back to the balms, this balm is a must have for it’s fabulous citrusy flavour!
Click here for the full review.

Coconut Cream Pie.

Description: Coconut, Cream, & a hint of vanilla make up our version of the popular pie.
For me, I personally don’t like coconuts that much. So I was a little skeptical and hesitant to try this balm. But boy am I glad that I did! This balm is totally delish! The coconut scent is not at all like the ones we drink! Instead, with the blend of cream and vanilla, this balm has gotta be one of the most sinful balms around! Totally awesome if you need a creamy fix!
Click here for the full review.

Dog Poop.

Description: A funny name- but a yummy blend of Caramel & Coffee.
Another favourite of mine! This is a definite must have for all coffee lovers out there! I love this balm because it totally reminds me of Starbuck’s Caramel Macchiato minus the calories! Should I feel tired during the day, I always quickly apply this balm for a quick whiff of coffee to perk me up!
Click here for the full review.

Jalapeno.

Description: HOT!! Just like the pepper!
I have not yet tried this particular balm, but rest assured it is in my current to buy list! And will be picking it up from Cynthia, when I can! Sometime soon I hope! I put this under a Must Have/Starter Kit because not everyone is blessed with luscious Jolie lips, and as such we need all the help we can get! If you do have thin lips, or if you feel that your lips could use a little more plumping, I suggest getting this flavour. Two in 1 combo! Nourishing lip balm + plumper! Awesome sauce!

Margarita.

Description: This one smells just like the drink. Sweet Rum, Lime, & a touch of Lemon.
Another flavour I have yet to try, but I fully recommend it anyways because I am in love with the drink! Though personally I like Strawberry Margaritas better, I do still like the original Margarita! Everyone needs a little booze balm in their purse, just as a little refreshing pick me up!

Nighttime.

Description:
Just like our aromatherapy bath salts: Lavender, Rose, & Orange to help with sleepless nights.
There are nights where we just find it a little harder than usual to fall asleep, and when that happens I like to apply a nice smooth thick layer of this balm to help moisturise my lips and for it’s aroma therapeutic effects. I have tried this balm and I do like it, I just haven’t gotten around to writing an actual review for it yet. Don’t worry, it’ll be up soon!

Peppermint Latte.

Description: A winning combination of cool peppermint and hot cafe latte.
I know, I know we already have a coffee flavoured balm on top, but I just gotta say that you gotta have this balm! Because the mix of coffee and peppermint is just absolutely divine! I love how the scent of coffee instantly perks me up, while the peppermint gives my lips a nice cold tingle. You have to get this if you love coffee and mint!
Click here for the full review.

Pink Cake.

Description: Like a cupcake with pink icing! Cake & Sugary Icing, with hints of strawberry, lemon, & more. Stevia sweetened. YUM!!!!
I don’t know what it is about this balm, but somehow the mix of cake, icing, strawberry, lemon and such just gives this balm a totally delicious taste to it! It not only smells heavenly, but when you lick your lips, you can practically taste it. Sinfully sweet and divine.
Click here for the full review.

Vanilla Buttercream.

Description: Creamy Butter Cream with a hint of vanilla. Another staff favorite!
I do have this flavour, I just haven’t opened it yet! Teehee! The reason I put this as a Must Have/Starter Kit flavour is because that I am a fan of vanilla, and there are just some days where you want a simple no fuss flavoured lip balm and I personally feel that vanilla is neither too overpowering nor too mild. It is in fact just the perfect blend of simplicity for a casual lip balm.

So there you have it! 11 flavours that I recommend as a Must Have! Or for those of you just starting out, here’s a good selection to get an idea of what flavours you’d like. :)

To purchase any of these fabulous flavoured balms and to check out what other wicked flavours they have, do head on over to My Lip Stuff Malaysia. They’ve got heaps more balms for you to feast your eyes on and heaps more reviews to help you with your balm flavour choosing. :)

Good Deed Gone Bad

This is what happened to my lip balm after I gave it to my BF for a couple of weeks in the hopes that he might actually use it!

IMG_3173IMG_3174
This is known as lip balm massacre.

IMG_3175IMG_3176
See how weathered the outside has become! I wonder how many washes it went through!

IMG_3178IMG_3179
As you can see very clearly (or as clearly as these photos will allow), my lip balm is totally melted and stuck to the cap. My genius of a BF probably forgot all about it when he threw his clothes into the washer. The funny thing is how he always manages to remove his wallet, phone, keys and such but not my lip balm. Grrr. I think this is after a few washes.

IMG_3177
As such, I have taken away the lip balm from him (not that he’s complaining!), and now I don’t know what to do with it.
Should I…

1. Melt the lip balm and pour it back into the lip balm case
OR
2. Scoop out the lip balm that’s in the cap and make a scented lipstick colour

What’d ya guys think?
If picking option 2, please suggest a few lip colours for me. :)

Till next time!

Peaches & apples

Alright, so I know I’ve been completely slacker and lazy on the updates lately, it’s only because I’ve just got 5 seasons of Criminal Minds! Yes, I’m officially a Criminal Minds addict! It used to be CSI, now it is Criminal Minds.
If you haven’t already watched the show, I suggest you do! It’s awesome!

Moving along, here I have 2 lipbalms which I actually opened ages ago and just have been putting off reviewing them. Personally, these 2 are definitely one of my favourites. :)

First up, Apple Smoothie.
apple smoothie (1) apple smoothie (2)
Though the description of this balm doesn’t sound like much, but holding it in my hand, placing it against my nose and taking a quick whiff of this balm has made me wanna open it immediately! The scent is so deliciously sweet!
apple smoothie (3)
This balm has the perfect blend of juicy red apples, all cut up, juiced and blended with a thick, rich, creamy vanilla milk. The combination is effortless and oh-so-tasty. If you love apples and if you love smoothies, you’re sure to love this balm! In fact, I don’t know what it is about this balm but the mix of apples and vanilla milk is simply perfect together.
Red_apple_by_NineWhileNine shake
Just imagine a bowl full of delicious, juicy and crunchy red apples, cut up and blended with the richest and creamiest vanilla milk you can imagine. That is exactly what this balm is like, perfectly fruity and creamy! It’s so tasty it’s practically sinful!
A must have!

Next on the list, Peach Belini.
peach bellini (2) peach bellini (3)
To be honest, peaches are not my favourite fruit. So when Cynthia recommended this I was a tad bit skeptical. After all, I’ve never heard of Peach Belinis and I don’t like peaches.
What exactly is a Peach Belini?
It is basically a long drink cocktail that originated from Venice. It is a mixture of sparkling wine and peach puree.
The description doesn’t sound like much, but I can assure you, this balm is tasty!
peach bellini (4)
When I opened up this balm and took a quick whiff, it smells delicious! The scent and flavour of peaches aren’t too strong, which is something I am glad for! It has a slight hint of bubbly champagne and with the combination of peaches this balm has a sweet peachy scent and has a slight peachy champagne taste to it.
http://blogs.msdn.com/mswanson/articles/wallpaper.aspxchampagne_toast
This balm is not creamy at all like Apple Smoothie, instead it’s got a very slight citrusy flavour to it and is all nice and bubbly! Though this balm has champagne in it, I won’t say it’s your typical booze balm as the booze note is quite mild.
ChampagnePOP-7842986a00e5519367618834010534d08c97970b-800wi
I guess the closest description I can give to you on how this balm is like, is from the above picture! It pops! It’s sweet! And it’s bubbly! Added with a juicy sweet peach, this balm is another must have for your collection!

And that’s all for now! I know I should get around to writing more, but I’ll do it soon once I finish my Criminal Minds marathon! I’m almost done guys!

Till next time!

Mighty Minty Mints

The 2 flavours of My Lip Stuff’s lip balms that I’ll be reviewing today are Peppermint Latte & Mojito! Both with yummy Mint in it! So without further delay, let’s get started la! :)

Kick starting off our mints, we introduce you to Peppermint Latte!
DSC_0016
If you love Peppermints and if you love Dog Poop you are sure to love this Peppermint Latte flavoured lip balm by My Lip Stuff! This is basically the toned down version of Dog Poop, which by the way essentially tastes just like Starbuck’s Caramel Macchiato! So just imagine Starbucks’s Caramel Macchiato with just a hint of Peppermint! Truly delish!
DSC_0017
The Peppermint kinda reminds me of that Polo mint candy we had ages ago! The one with the hole in the middle. Do you guys remember it? Wonder if there are any still around, gotta go get me some!
DSC_0019
The peppermint flavour itself isn’t too strong so even if you’re not that big a fan of mint, you definitely won’t be put off by this flavour. However, because this balm does have mint inside, it does provide a slight cooling, tingling sensation to your lips that is not unlike the feeling you get from using LipIce. Just the sensation isn’t quite as strong as LipIce.

So at the end of the day, this is the basic formula of Peppermint Latte!
Web
Polo Mint + Starbuck’s Caramel Macchiato = My Lip Stuff’s Peppermint Latte Lip Balm.
Yes, I know totally crappy design job, but it got to the point right! :)

Repurchase? Probably yes!!! I love Peppermint! I love coffee! Therefore I LOVE this balm! So you guys must GO GO GO GET IT! Hahahahaha

Next up, Mojito!
mojitos
Doesn’t this look absolutely yummy and refreshing?
Okay, I was actually really, really excited about this balm, because personally I LOVE the drink! I mean come on! The Rum, the Lime, the Mint, the Sugar. Ahhhhh, simply heaven! So naturally when I opened up this balm I expected it to be pretty close to the actual drink. But sadly, the Mojito-ness just wasn’t there. :(
DSC_0212 (2)DSC_0213 (2)
It reminds me a little of Key Lime Pie, I think it’s because the scent and flavour of the lime is quite strong. The Mint & Peppermint not as much as I would like, but it does still leave a nice cool tingling sensation on your lips after you apply it. Although, I must say one saving grace for this balm is the fact that it is Sweetened! So when you lick you lips, you can actually taste the lime, the sugar and a very mild flavour of mint. Which basically means one word… YUM!
DSC_0215 (2)DSC_0214 (2)
Overall, not a bad flavour, but nothing to shout about either. I just wished the mint flavour was a little stronger, and maybe the lime flavour a little milder, than maybe it would be like a real Mojito! YUM!

Repurchase? 50-50. Love the mint bits, but wish the lime was a little less. But will definitely be opening up my Shirley Temple lip balm soon! :)

And yes, we all know I am a lip balm addict. So yes, there will be more reviews up on the other flavours, if you have any request on flavours, just drop me a mail la! And I’ll try to review it ASAP! But only if I have said flavour! :)

Hope these reviews have helped you with your lip balm selections. I know it can be quite tough picking flavours! And if it hasn’t I’m sure Cynthia would gladly guide you in the right direction! :)

Till next time!
